Gigaset A510 IP - Advanced Telephony

This is the title whit which Siemens describes this new telephone.

I recently have acquired one of this telephones an I'm really happy with it. I bought it because I have a landline and a VoIP line for several years. Both lines have always been separated (as independent lines as they are) so each line had their own device, that means: two telephones, twice number of cables, double devices plugged,... To sum up, I had twice as many problems.

The A510 IP combines both lines: landline and VoIP line, making my life easier (now I don't have to find to phones each time somebody calls me). With the A510 IP I can choose of either fix line or VoIP line calls to suit my needs each time.

As special features:

• It can handle until three parallel calls
• VoIP calls with HD sound
• Weather forecast info
• Email notification
• RSS feeds (yes, I follow my own blog with my A510 IP)

But my favorite: ECO DECT. This feature do that my telephone consumes less electricity, so now I a little bit more eco-friendly. Like all Gigaset cordless phones, it variably reduces the transmitting power from the handset to base station depending on their distance apart. What is more, I can also reduce the transmitting power of the Gigaset A510 IP’s base station by 80%4 simply by selecting the ECO Mode.
